Base yourself in Kangding for 3 days of spectacular day hikes in the Daxue Mountains. Trek to alpine lakes, cross high passes with prayer flags, and experience Tibetan nomadic culture on the edge of the plateau.

Drive Chengdu to Kangding (5h). Afternoon warm-up hike to Nanwu Monastery above town. Acclimatization walk with Zheduo River views.
